This Privacy Policy explains how Healthy Food Dev Team (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile application Calories: Eat Clean Diet Track and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

1) Information we collect

A. Information you provide

• Account details: email address, username, and password (hashed).
• Support messages: the content of messages you send to us (e.g., bug reports, feedback).

B. Health & activity data (optional)

With your explicit permission, we may read the following categories from your device’s health platform (e.g., Apple Health or Google Fit) solely to power app features:

• Activity recognition — used to help detect movement periods and improve activity summaries.
• Active calories — used to calculate daily energy expenditure so the app can estimate recommended calorie intake and show progress.
• Distance — used to track movement distance and display it within the app.
• Steps — used to show your daily step count and trends within the app.

You control access: the app requests only the minimum scopes required, and you can grant or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings. Health data is used only for the features described above and is never used for advertising.

C. App and device data

• Diagnostics & usage: device model, OS version, crash logs, and basic analytics (e.g., feature usage) to keep the app reliable and improve it.
• Approximate location (optional): only if you enable it for location-based features; you can disable this in your device settings.
• Push notifications (optional): if you enable them in your device settings.

2) How we use your information

• Provide and maintain the Services (including account management and core features).
• Show your activity metrics (active calories, distance, steps) and related insights inside the app.
• Calculate nutrition guidance (e.g., recommended intake) based on your active calories if you choose to use that feature.
• Diagnose issues, secure the Services, and improve performance and features.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3) Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)

• Consent (e.g., reading health data from Apple Health/Google Fit).
• Contract (to provide the Services you request).
• Legitimate interests (e.g., to maintain and improve the app in ways that do not override your rights).
• Legal obligations (when required by law).

4) Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for their independent marketing. We may share data with service providers that help us operate the Services (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics) under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions. We may also share data if required by law or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

5) Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, while your account is active, or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time (see “Your rights”). Some records (e.g., logs or backups) may persist for a limited period for security, continuity, or legal reasons, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, please contact us immediately.

7) Your rights

8) Children

Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can delete it.
